Personalized Color Changing Mug: How the Reveal Works
A colour-changing mug starts out black. The photograph is printed onto the ceramic first, then covered with a heat-sensitive layer that clears above roughly forty-five degrees. Pour in coffee and the image appears from the top down, following the liquid line; as the drink cools, the black returns. Nothing is consumed by this, so the same mug does it indefinitely.
Glossy black gives the sharper reveal; matte hides fingerprints and looks like an ordinary modern mug when cold.
