Keychain Rectangle 3D for Pisces

Two fish engraved inside a block of optical crystal, curving against each other with the connecting cord between them, the constellation traced behind and the name below, on a ring fitted to the top by a metal cap. A pisces keychain has a quality none of the others do: the design is roughly the same either way up, which on an object that spins freely on a ring turns out to matter.

A Figure With No Wrong Way Round

A keyring is never looked at deliberately. It is glanced at while it swings, upside down, half covered by a thumb. Eleven of these designs have a top and a bottom and spend half their visible life inverted. Two fish arranged head to tail do not: whichever way the crystal lands, the shape reads the same. It is a small thing and it is the only functional difference between the twelve designs in this series.

The Last Sign, and the Smallest Version of It

Pisces is traditionally associated with imagination, empathy and a resistance to being pinned down, and it is the sign most often given something decorative rather than useful. This is the cheapest and smallest format in the zodiac series, which means it can be given without the weight a larger present carries, and it is the one that travels in a pocket rather than waiting on a shelf to be noticed. For a sign that tends to deflect attention, that is the right scale.

Sizes and What Is Included

Three sizes are made, all cut to the same slim depth, so moving up buys more room for the pair of fish rather than a thicker block. Because there are two subjects, the larger sizes separate them more clearly, though less dramatically than on the twins. Engraving at varying depths puts the figures inside the crystal, where keys and coins cannot reach them, and nothing is printed on the outside to wear away. A metal cap and ring are fitted at the top rather than a frame around the block.

Nothing is uploaded and no proof is needed. A pop up greeting card, gift wrapping, crystal accessories and a cleaning kit are available as extras. It arrives in a gift box.

Ultra HD works at 4.5 million points, Standard at 3 million. Half as many points again, in practice. The engraving shows best lit from below. Engraved wording is included at no cost. Repeat copies are half price.
