Keychain Rectangle 3D for Libra

The scales engraved inside a block of optical crystal, the constellation drawn behind them and the name beneath, on a ring fitted to the top by a metal cap. A libra keychain is the one design in this series built from straight lines and symmetry rather than from an animal, and at this size that is a real advantage rather than a curiosity.

Geometry Survives Shrinking

Anatomy does not. A lion, a crab or an archer drawn small loses the small details that identify it, and what is left is a shape you have to be told the name of. A balance beam with two pans hanging from it is the same object at any scale: two lines, two shapes, a pivot. On the smallest crystal here, 0.79 inches wide, the figure is as clear as it is on the largest, which cannot be said for most of the twelve.

A Sign About Other People

Libra is traditionally associated with fairness, diplomacy and a dislike of conflict, and of the twelve it is the one most defined by relationships rather than by the self. That is part of why it gets given laterally, between friends and partners, more often than down a family. The low price next to the shelf crystals in the same series suits that: this is a present you can give without it becoming an event, which is exactly what a Libra would prefer.

Three Sizes, Wear and Ordering

Every size is 0.59 inches deep: 0.79 by 1.18 inches at 0.09 pounds, 0.98 by 1.38 at 0.11, and 1.18 by 1.57 at 0.14. The figure is cut at varying depths within the crystal, so the symmetry has actual thickness to it and the two pans sit at slightly different distances from the face. Keys and coins touch only the polished outside and there is no coating to wear through. The ring sits on a metal cap fixed to the top of the crystal. The design is ready made, so nothing is uploaded and no proof is approved. Gift wrapping, crystal accessories, a cleaning kit and a pop up greeting card can be ordered with it. There is no light base in this format; the shelf crystals in the same series are the ones that take a base. Gift box included, made in 1-2 business days, US delivery in 3-5.
