Round Crystal Ornament with Your Photo Engraved Inside
Round is what most people picture when they think of a tree decoration, and it is also the most forgiving shape for a photograph. A face centred in a circle has room on every side, nothing is cropped into a point or a corner, and the disc reads the same however it turns on the branch. This one is 2.36 inches across in optical crystal, hung on a ribbon, with the image engraved inside the glass. Photo ornaments made this way are the safe choice when you are not sure which picture will be used.
Why the Engraving Outlasts a Printed Disc
A printed ceramic ornament spends eleven months of the year in a box and comes out a little worse each time: colours shift, the print lifts at the rim, the surface picks up scuffs from everything packed beside it. A picture ornament engraved inside crystal has none of those failure points, because the image is under the surface rather than on it. Tree lights also pass straight through the clear material and light the engraving from behind, which is something no solid disc can do.
What to Put on It

Why a Round Crystal Ornament Suits Photos
A circle crops evenly on all sides, so a centred subject loses nothing awkwardly, which is not true of hearts or stars. That makes a round crystal ornament the easiest shape to fill with a portrait, a couple, a baby or a pet, and the shape most families choose when they buy one ornament per child. Engraved Inside the Crystal
A laser focuses through the polished outer surface and fractures the glass at a controlled depth inside it, building the image from millions of microscopic points. Nothing is applied to the outside. Printed ornaments fade in a hot loft and chip at the edges after a few seasons; an engraved crystal ornament comes out of its box in twenty years looking exactly as it did the first Christmas, which is why customers treat these as ornaments to accumulate rather than replace.
How It Behaves on a Lit Tree
Clear crystal is transparent, so a string light near the ornament sends light straight through it until the beam reaches the engraved points, which scatter it. The engraved photograph or lettering lights up while the surrounding glass stays invisible. Hung close to a bulb, a round engraved ornament is visible from across a room; hung in shadow it reads as a clear glass bauble with an image suspended inside.
Photo, Text, or Both
Close portraits work best at this scale. A name with a year, a set of initials with a wedding date, “Baby’s First Christmas”, or a name with two dates for a memorial can be engraved instead of, or beneath, a photograph. Text-only round ornaments are frequently ordered in sets, one per year or per family member, so that a tree accumulates a consistent record over time.
Proofing, Storage and Care
Upload your photo or wording at checkout. A designer prepares the engraving file and emails a free digital proof, normally within a day, with revisions until you approve. The ornament ships on its ribbon in a gift box with a microfiber cloth, within 3-5 business days in the US. Keep it in the box between seasons. Loft heat, winter cold and humidity have no effect on a sealed engraving, and one wipe with the cloth restores the polish each year.
