Crystal Ornament Bell

A crystal bell ornament is the most traditional silhouette on this page. A bell reads as Christmas on its own, before anyone is close enough to see the photograph engraved inside it, which is the opposite of a plain disc that has to be looked at to be understood. It stands 2.64 inches tall, the tallest shape in the range, and hangs on a ribbon. The outline tapers, so the picture sits in the wider lower half where there is room for it.

Where the Shape Earns Its Place

On a tree full of round baubles, a silhouette that is not round is what the eye stops on. A glass crystal bell ornament also suits the houses that keep a traditional Christmas rather than a colour-themed one, and it pairs naturally with older decorations rather than looking like an intruder among them. The taper means a single close subject works best, and one or two figures is the recommended limit at this size; a group photograph belongs on the octagon instead.

Engraved Inside the Crystal

The image is engraved within the material rather than printed on it, so it cannot fade, peel or chip however many seasons the ornament spends in a box in the loft. Printed ceramic ornaments lose a little each year; this one does not lose anything. Clear crystal also lets tree lights through, and a bell hung close to a string of them fills with light and lifts the engraving from behind.

A Photograph or a Year

Send a close photo of a child, a couple or a pet, or ask for lettering alone. A name with a year is the most common request on this shape, and a first Christmas, a new house or a wedding date all belong here just as naturally. Our designers retouch the image, lay out any text and email you a free proof, and nothing is engraved until you approve it. A stand is available if the bell is to be displayed year round, and a cleaning kit for fingerprints on the crystal. At 2.36 inches wide it hangs well on an outer branch where the shape can be seen whole. Gift box included, made in 1-2 business days, US delivery in 3-5.
