What a Square Photo Keychain Suits
A square is the most forgiving shape at keyring scale, because a face centred in a square has room on all four sides and nothing is cropped into a curve. A single portrait, two people head-on, a dog or cat looking at the camera: these all engrave cleanly. It is also the shape that hangs neutrally, with no top or bottom, so a custom square keychain never sits the wrong way up on a keyring.

The photograph exists inside the crystal as millions of microscopic points created by a laser focused at controlled depths through the polished outer wall. Scale matters more than megapixels. The subject should already fill much of your original photo; a face shot from across a room will not hold detail once it is reduced to keyring size.
