Keychain Square 2D

A square keychain is the most forgiving shape at keyring scale. A face centred in it has room on all four sides, nothing is cropped into a curve, and the piece hangs the same way whichever end is up. A metal cap and ring are fitted to the top of the crystal, and this is the 2D version: your photo is engraved as a single tonal layer inside the glass rather than built into a depth model. It is also the crop most phones already give you, so the picture you have in mind usually needs no reworking at all.

Why the Flat Version Suits More Photos

A 3D engraving turns your picture into a depth model, which is superb with one clear subject against a plain background and much less convincing when the file has nothing to build from. Flat engraving works from the tones that are genuinely in the photograph, so scans of older prints, pictures taken at a distance and low-detail files all come through honestly. A square photo keyring handles these particularly well, because the shape gives every part of the frame equal room rather than favouring the middle of a curve.

Out of Reach of Keys and Coins

Printed and resin keychains abrade within months, since the image sits on the outside. Here it is inside the K9 crystal, so nothing scratches off, peels at a corner or fades in a car window. A name, initials or a date can be engraved beside the image at no extra design cost, which is the simplest way to turn a picture into a record of something specific. Three sizes are made, 1.18, 1.38 and 1.57 inches square, all recommended for one or two faces.

Ordering a Flat Engraved Square Keyring

Send any photo you like, including one taken on a phone years ago or scanned from a print. Our designers prepare it for flat engraving, usually with a tighter crop and stronger contrast, and email you a free proof before anything reaches the laser. Nothing is engraved until you approve it. These are easy to order in sets, for a family, a wedding party, a team or a group of friends who all want the same image. Gift box included, produced in 1-2 business days and delivered in 3-5 anywhere in the US.
