Flashdrive Octagon 2D

An octagonal body of optical crystal, 1.21 inches wide and 2.28 tall, with your photograph engraved inside it and a USB drive in the base. The eight cut edges do two things at once: they catch whatever light is in the room, and they give the picture a wider field than the rectangle version does. That extra width is the practical reason to choose this shape. Two people side by side fit comfortably, where a narrow body would have you cropping one of them out.

What the Cut Corners Add

Light entering an angled edge travels through the body rather than bouncing straight off it, so the whole piece lifts and the engraving sits inside a block that glows faintly at the corners. On a desk under an overhead lamp this is the difference between an object people pick up and one they leave in a drawer with the other drives. The rectangle keeps the crystal plain and the picture flat; this one is the decorative half of the pair. It also has a little more weight in the hand, which is the first thing anyone notices picking it up.

Ultra HD Engraving Inside the Body

The image is engraved within the crystal as a single high-definition layer, crisp rather than soft, and sealed where nothing on the outside can reach it. No ink, no printed film, nothing to peel at a corner or fade on a windowsill, which is what happens to a photo gift built on a printed surface. One or two figures is the recommended limit, so a close portrait, a couple or a pet works far better than a wide group shot at this scale. A cleaning kit is available for fingerprints on the outside.

The Gift and the Files It Holds

Most photographs now live on a phone and are never seen again. This is the gift that fixes both halves of that problem: the archive travels on the drive, and one picture from it is held permanently inside the body. Send any photo and our designers retouch it and email you a proof before anything is engraved. It arrives in a gift box, with gift wrapping and a pop-up greeting card available, and ordered by 2 PM CT it ships the same day. Parents and grandparents are the usual recipients, and they are usually the ones asking for the pictures in the first place.
