Picking the Perfect Photo for Your Heart-Shaped Crystal

The quirk is the point at the bottom. The shape is widest across the top two lobes and narrows to nothing at the base, so anything in the lower third of your photograph is squeezed into a taper. Faces belong in the upper half, and a glass heart picture works best when the eyes sit level with the widest part of the shape. Curved edges are what make this shape difficult to check. There is no straight line anywhere on it, so a centring error cannot be measured against an edge the way it can on a block; it has to be judged against the symmetry of the two lobes, which the eye reads with surprising precision. An image sitting two millimetres left of true looks obviously wrong on a heart and would pass unnoticed on a rectangle. Centring is therefore verified against the outline itself before anything else. Every crystal is inspected before it leaves the facility:

• Is the face clear?
• Is the text readable?
• Are there visible defects in the crystal?
• Is the engraving depth correct?
• Is the crystal cleaned before packaging?
• Is the correct base/accessory included?
• Is the gift box protected for shipping?
