Blue 3D Crystal Capsule

A tall crystal with a rounded top, 6.30 inches high and weighing three and a half pounds, with your photograph engraved inside it and a blue sweep running through the base. The capsule is the largest shape in this series and the only one that reads as an object in its own right before you notice the picture held in it. Blue keeps that object calm rather than sentimental.

Built Around One Face

One or two figures are recommended here, against up to five on the skirt formats, and the difference is deliberate. The height and the curve draw the eye to a single subject, so a portrait in this shape is given the whole piece rather than a share of it. That suits a graduation photograph, a professional portrait, a picture of a parent, or two people close together. A row of people spread across a frame belongs in the landscape skirt, which was built for exactly that.

What the Blue Base Does

On a tall block the light has further to travel, so the colour at the base carries higher up the crystal than it does on a small piece. Blue turns that into a cool, even glow rather than a warm one, which is why this pairing suits a modern room, an office, or a gift for someone who would find a warmer colour too emotional for a photograph of a living person. Amber is the warm alternative in the same shape, and it changes the mood of the piece completely; red goes further still and is chosen for occasions rather than for rooms.

Placing It, and What Comes With It

Three and a half pounds of crystal wants a surface chosen for it, at eye level or close to it, with space around the piece. The photograph is engraved in Ultra HD inside the block, out of reach of dust, sunlight and handling, and free text engraving is included for a name, a date or a short line. The background can be kept or removed. An LED base and a cleaning kit are available as add-ons. Two sizes are made in this shape, medium and large; the larger one needs a surface of its own rather than a share of a shelf. Gift box included, made in 1-2 business days, US delivery in 3-5.
