The capsule is the largest piece in this series and the only one shaped like a single object rather than a framed picture. It stands 6.30 inches tall, weighs three and a half pounds, and its rounded top gives the block the silhouette of a sculpture rather than a photo frame. Your photograph is engraved inside the clear crystal, and an amber sweep runs through the base beneath it.
One Subject, Given the Whole Piece
Unlike the skirt formats, which take up to five figures, this shape is recommended for one or two. That is not a limitation so much as the point of it: the height and the curve concentrate attention on a single face, and a portrait placed here reads as a study rather than a snapshot. One person looking at the camera is what this crystal is for. A family group belongs in the wider landscape format, where the width exists to hold them.
Why Amber on This Shape
Amber is the warmest of the four colours, closer to lamplight than daylight, and it does more work on a tall piece than a short one because the light has further to travel through the block. The result is a portrait that looks lit rather than displayed. It also suits the interiors this size of object usually ends up in: a mantelpiece, a hall table, a study with wood in it. Blue is the cooler alternative in the same shape if the room is modern, and green is the one to choose for someone who lived outdoors.
Weight, Engraving and Options
Three and a half pounds of crystal needs a surface chosen for it rather than a free corner, and the piece is meant to be noticed, not tucked away. The image is engraved in Ultra HD inside the block, and free text engraving is included for a name, a date or a line of your own. The background can be kept or removed. An LED base and a cleaning kit are available, and on a piece this large the base changes the object completely after dark.
