Rectangle Urn

A plain rectangle of optical crystal 4.72 inches wide, 3.15 tall and 2.36 deep, standing on a base that holds a sealed compartment for the ashes. A photo urn in this form carries no symbolic outline at all: no arch, no cross, no headstone silhouette. What the object says is said entirely by the portrait engraved inside it and the name engraved beneath.

The Only One Where You Choose the Orientation

Every other urn in this group has a fixed proportion, so the photograph is cropped to the object. Here you choose portrait or landscape, and the object follows the photograph. That matters more on an urn than anywhere else, because the picture is usually the one the family already agreed on, often the only good one that exists, and trimming it to fit is a decision nobody wants to make twice. An upright crop suits a standing portrait; a wide one keeps a seated figure with the room around them.

A Shape Chosen for What It Leaves Out

Families are not all the same about this. Some want the traditional form and take the headstone-shaped urn in the same group. Others find any funerary outline hard to have in a living room and would rather the piece read as a photograph in glass that happens to hold more than a photograph. This is the one for the second case, and it is also the easiest to place, because a rectangle sits against books and picture frames without looking out of keeping with them.
