Pet House Urn

A dog house urn: a rectangle of optical crystal 4.72 inches wide, 3.15 tall and 2.36 deep, with a pitched roof above it and a sealed compartment for the ashes in the base. Your dog or cat is engraved inside the crystal at depth. A pet house urn is the same object as the plain rectangle in this group with one difference, and the difference is the whole reason people choose it.

Why the Roof Changes What It Is

An urn in the shape of a dog house does not read as a grave marker. It reads as the animal's own house, which is closer to how most owners actually think about where their dog has gone, and it is why this shape turns up in living rooms and on desks rather than being put somewhere out of the way. Children in particular find it easier to have in the room than a plain container, and families with other pets still in the house often say the same thing. The shape does the explaining, so the photograph inside can simply be a good one.

One Animal, Close to the Camera

One figure is recommended. A dog house urn for pet cremation holds one animal, and a portrait of that animal alone is what it is for; if the household had two and you want them together, one of the keepsake crystals in this category takes up to five. Depth engraving asks for a close, reasonably sharp picture with the dog clear of the background behind it. Dark fur needs care and our designers lift it before anything is cut, which is worth knowing if your best photograph is of a black dog in a garden.

Lettering, Light and Ordering

Free text engraving is included, and here it is almost always a name, sometimes with the years, set in the clear crystal beside or below the image. The background can be kept or removed. You receive a free proof by email and nothing goes to the laser until you approve it. An LED base can be added underneath, along with a cleaning kit, crystal accessories and video books. Because the engraving sits inside the crystal, nothing about it can fade, scratch or discolour with handling. Gift box included, made in 1-2 business days, US delivery in 3-5.
