Four steps, from upload to delivery: 3D laser engraving, a preview you approve, and same-day shipping on your crystal photo gift.
The 3D Crystal Diamond is a cube with its corners cut away, and those cuts are what make it the most display-forward shape we make. A 3d picture cube throws highlights from every angle, so the piece changes as you walk past it instead of sitting flat like a framed print. It holds one strong subject better than a crowd, which makes it a natural choice for a portrait, a wedding shot or a single milestone photo. For group pictures with several faces, the square is the better shape.
A crystal photo cube is engraved from the inside. A laser focuses below the surface and leaves millions of tiny points that build the image in three dimensions, layer by layer, so it has real depth you can see by tilting the block. Because there is no ink and no printed sheet, a glass cube with picture inside cannot fade, peel or yellow with age. Dust, fingerprints and sunlight never reach the engraving either, since it sits sealed in the middle of the crystal. Each 3d crystal cube is cut from optically clear K9 crystal, a glass grade chosen for how cleanly it carries light.
Sizes run from a small piece that sits beside a keyboard to one that anchors a shelf. A larger cube holds more detail, which matters when the photo has fine texture or more than one face in it. Laser etched crystal cube engravings look their best with light behind them, and in a dark room an LED base does that job, sending light up through the block so the image appears to float. The cut corners pick up that light as well, which is why this shape gains more from a base than the flat ones do.
Send any photo you like, including one taken on a phone years ago. Our designers retouch it first, and a custom photo cube is never sent to the laser until you approve the free proof we email you. That step matters most with darker or low-contrast shots, where the engraving needs checking before anything is cut. This shape suits anniversaries, birthdays, Christmas, gifts for him and achievement milestones, and it fits a modern or minimalist interior without looking sentimental. Every order ships in a gift box, is made in 1-2 business days, and reaches US addresses in 3-5.
More laser dots = more wow in every crystal, resulting in smoother, more defined and solid images. Next-level detail, same unforgettable memories.

Cut corners change what a glass cube does with light. Where a plain block lets light pass straight through, the bevelled faces catch it and throw it back at an angle, so a photo cube flickers as the viewer moves and the engraved image inside brightens from directions a flat block leaves dark. That behaviour is the entire reason to choose this shape over a plain one, and it is why a photo cube reads as an object rather than as a picture holder. It is the most display-forward shape in the range, and a glass picture cube of this kind is engraved within the material by the ArtPix 3D team rather than printed on it.
The practical consequence is that a picture in glass cube holds its own in a room without help. On a desk under an office light, on a shelf across from a window, it does not need a lamp to be noticed.
It skews male, and unusually so for this range: cube crystal reads as a design object rather than as a keepsake. Men, people with modern or minimal interiors, anyone who will put the piece on a desk or a bookshelf rather than a nightstand: the geometry reads as an object rather than as a keepsake, which is exactly why it lands well with recipients who would find a heart uncomfortable. It is our most-ordered shape among photo gifts for him for that reason.
For occasions, it does milestones better than sentiment. It suits anniversary gift ideas where the couple want something for the living room rather than the bedroom, and it is a strong choice among birthday present ideas for a significant year. As one of the more architectural personalized Christmas gifts, it also survives being unwrapped in front of an audience, which not every present of this kind does.
Its limit is crowds. The faceted corners bend the image slightly at the edges of the block, which is invisible on a single subject and distracting on a row of eight faces, because the people at each end get the most distortion. For a group photograph, use the square. One strong subject is what this shape is built for.
Almost anything works. Good light, no motion blur, a clear subject, and the design team handles the rest before your free proof arrives.
The quirk is that the block is widest through its middle and cut away at every corner. Whatever sits at the centre of your photograph gets the deepest, cleanest run of glass and looks the most three-dimensional; whatever sits in the corners meets a bevel. So centre the subject, and do not rely on detail in the corners of the frame. If the background behind your subject is cluttered, say so when you order: removing it costs nothing and almost always improves the result, because empty crystal around a subject is what creates the sense of depth in the first place. A cube picture of one face, one pet, or two people close together is what this geometry rewards, and a laser etched glass cube of that kind reads cleanly from every side. Wide shots with the interest pushed to the edges are the one thing it handles worse than a flat block.
This shape refracts light from four directions at once, and that is what makes dust so visible on it. A speck on the polished face of a rectangle sits quietly on one plane; the same speck on a bevelled corner is picked up and repeated by every facet around it, so a crystal that would look clean anywhere else looks neglected here. Cleaning is therefore checked under angled light rather than head-on, which is the only way to see what the customer will see. Every crystal is inspected before it leaves the facility:
The crystal ships only once every point passes.
