Lighted Crystal Photo Frames with Your Picture Engraved Inside
A panel of optical crystal just under ten inches tall with your picture engraved inside it, lit from within its own frame. Unlit it is clear glass. Lit, the engraved points scatter the light while the crystal around them stays invisible, so the picture appears to hang in the air. What makes this piece different from everything else we make is capacity: it is recommended for up to fifteen figures, where most of our crystals stop at one or two.
The Only Format That Takes a Crowd
Fifteen faces is a wedding party, a graduating class, a company photograph, four generations at a reunion. Those pictures usually have nowhere to go: a frame reduces them to a row of specks, and a 3D crystal cannot model that many subjects convincingly. A 2d crystal photo works instead by engraving a single tonal layer, closer to a fine halftone held inside the glass, so it reproduces exactly what the file contains and nothing more. That is also why a scan of an old print, a document, a certificate, a drawing or a logo comes through cleanly on this one. A 2d glass photo has a flatter, more graphic look than a modelled engraving, which suits those subjects better.
A System Rather Than a Single Object
The first panel arrives as an Initial Edition, with a mounting kit, an adapter and a controller. Additional crystals ship with a connecting cord, so they run from the same controller and light together. That is the point of the series: a lighted photo frame here is not a finished purchase but the first piece of a wall you build over time, one photograph at a time, with the lighting consistent across all of them.
Engraving and Ordering
Free text engraving is included, and it is used here more than on any other product we make, because pictures of fifteen people are usually occasions with a date attached. The background can be kept or removed. Send any photo, including one photographed off a paper print, and our designers retouch it, adjust the contrast for flat engraving and email you a free proof before anything is cut. Crystal photo frames at this size need a clear surface or wall of their own, and a lighted base for etched glass is built in rather than bought separately. A 2D Crystal Photo Is Not the Same as a 3D One
A 3D crystal converts your photo into a depth model and engraves it at many levels, which looks extraordinary with a clear subject and a plain background. A 2D crystal photo engraves a single tonal layer, like a fine halftone held inside the glass. That is the better choice when the photograph has many people, a complex background, low resolution, or is a scan of an old print, because nothing has to be invented to create depth. It is also the right choice for logos, certificates, drawings and text.
What the Light Base Does
Crystal is transparent, so an unlit panel relies on whatever light is behind it. The LED base changes that: light enters from underneath, travels up through the clear glass and scatters only where the laser has fractured the material. The engraved image lights up while the surrounding crystal disappears, which is why customers describe the effect as the photo floating. In a dark room the panel reads as brightly as a small screen.
Photos That Suit Crystal Photo Frames
Group and family photographs with five, ten or twenty faces. Wedding parties. Scans of photographs from the 1950s onward, including ones with scratches, which our designers repair. Buildings, artwork, handwriting, a child's drawing, a company logo, a certificate. Anything where the value is in the whole frame rather than in a single subject standing out from a background.
Adding Text
Because the engraving is a single layer, text integrates cleanly beside or beneath the image: a name and two dates for a memorial, a wedding date, a retirement message, a company name under a logo. Send the wording at checkout. There is no extra design fee, and our team lays it out to balance the image rather than compete with it.
Proof, Delivery and Care
Upload your photo or scan at checkout. A designer retouches it, repairs damage where possible, prepares the engraving file and emails a free digital proof, usually within a day, with revisions until you approve. The crystal and its LED base ship together in a gift box with a microfiber cloth within 3-5 business days in the US. Wipe the polished surfaces with the cloth; the engraving is sealed inside the glass and needs no care at all.
