This version pairs the most decorative of our two shapes with the more forgiving of our two engravings: eight cut faces catch the light around the edges, while the image itself is reproduced in the tones that are actually in your file, with no depth invented anywhere. It closes a bottle perfectly well, and it spends most of its life standing beside one, which is the real reason a stopper works as a gift at all.

Why the Flat Engraving Suits More Photographs

A depth model needs a close, sharp subject and a background it can separate cleanly. Most of the pictures people want on a gift are not that: they are scans of old prints, snapshots taken across a table, or phone photographs from years ago.
