Three hearts, each 3.15 inches across and 2.76 tall, under a pound apiece, each engraved from a different photograph. Standing in a row they take under ten inches of shelf, and because the outline repeats three times they read as one object in three parts rather than as three separate pieces that happen to be near each other.

Repetition Is the Effect

Three rectangles in a row look like three pictures. Three hearts in a row look like a set, because a distinctive silhouette repeated is read by the eye as a pattern before the contents are read at all. That is the real difference between the two shapes in this configuration, and it decides which one you want: a pattern if the three photographs belong to one story, three separate pictures if they do not. Weddings, a trio of grandchildren and the three people a parent would name first are the usual cases here.

Low and Wide, Three Times Over

Each piece is wider than it is tall, so a row of three is a long low band rather than a line of upright shapes. Practically that means they fit under a shelf where upright pieces will not, and they do not block what is behind them on a sideboard. It also means all three photographs are cropped wide, which is worth checking before you choose: three wide pictures work, two wide and one standing portrait does not, and in that case the rectangles let you set each piece upright or wide independently.

Three Separate Engravings

Every crystal is engraved in Ultra HD at varying depths from its own picture, and at this size the subjects want to be close to the camera, since 1.57 inches of depth is the least in the range and a crowded frame has little room to separate. Our designers prepare all three files and email three proofs; nothing goes to the laser until each is approved. Free text engraving is included on every piece, so each can carry its own name or date. Backgrounds can be kept or removed one at a time. Light bases can be added, and three low pieces lit together along a shelf is the arrangement most owners end up with.
