Set of 3 Large 3D Crystal Rectangles

Three crystals 3.15 inches wide, 2.36 deep and 4.72 tall, 3.14 pounds each: nine and a half pounds of optical crystal arriving in one box, carrying three separate photographs. This is the largest configuration of rectangles we make, and the scale is the reason to choose it rather than an incidental fact about it.

An Installation Rather Than an Ornament

Three pieces at this height need around ten inches of clear width and a surface that can hold the weight without flexing. A console table, a mantelpiece or the top of a low bookcase will take them; a floating shelf and a crowded sideboard will not. What you get for that is a row of portraits each nearly five inches tall, visible from the doorway of a room rather than only from the chair next to them. Nobody walks past this set without registering it, which is both the argument for it and the reason to be sure of the surface first.

The Size Where the Crop Decision Costs Most

Each of the three is set portrait or landscape independently. That option exists on every rectangle in this range, but it earns its keep here, because a photograph trimmed to fit is trimmed at nearly five inches tall and the loss is proportionally visible. A wide group shot forced upright loses people at the edges; an upright portrait forced wide leaves empty crystal either side of a head. Choosing per piece means none of the three has to compromise for the other two.

Three Files, and What They Need

Every crystal is engraved in Ultra HD at varying depths from its own picture, so each subject holds genuine volume. At this scale the file matters more than anywhere else in the range: a close, sharp photograph with people clear of the background gives a convincing depth model, while a distant shot or an old scan is more honestly rendered flat, and our designers say which is which on the proof rather than after delivery. Three proofs come by email and nothing is cut until all three are approved. Free text engraving is included on each, backgrounds can be kept or removed individually, and light bases can be added.
