A laser creates millions of microscopic points at different depths, and those points form your photograph as a solid shape. Where a Small Acrylic Block Fits

Choosing the Right Photo

Scale is the limiting factor. One face, two people close together, or a pet filling the frame will engrave clearly at this size. A family of six photographed from a distance will not, and a wide landscape loses its fine detail. Our designers will tell you before engraving if your photo needs a tighter crop or would be better on a larger block, rather than producing something disappointing.

Acrylic Rather Than Crystal

Acrylic is lighter and will scratch rather than shatter if it falls, which matters for a small block that gets picked up and handled often. It is warmer in tone than optical crystal and refracts light less sharply, so the engraved image reads a little softer. If you want maximum brilliance and weight for a mantelpiece or an award, choose crystal instead; for a small everyday object, acrylic is the more practical material.

Ordering, Lighting and Care

Upload a photo at checkout and add any short text you want engraved alongside it. A designer prepares the file and emails a free digital proof, usually within a day, with revisions until you approve. A small LED base is available and makes the engraved image glow in a dark room. The block ships in a gift box with a microfiber cloth within 3-5 business days in the US; clean it with that cloth only, as acrylic marks more easily than glass.
